If you remove the outriggers the boat weighs only 63 pounds. Most people remove the outriggers for transportation, car topping, and storage.

This kayak comes with a padded fishing platform and a lighter carry weight of only 47 lbs. The trade-off? The Freedom 12 Ultralight is not self-draining
and is less ideal in larger waves or chop.

Can I use the Freedom Hawk in Saltwater?
The hull and all of its parts are designed and constructed to withstand salt water corrosion.
That being said it is best to rinse
the entire boat after use in salt, dirty, or polluted water.
Can I add additional rod holders to my boat?
Yes. We sell rail mount rod holders specifically designed to fit most fly and spinning/casting rods.
The rod holder mounts in seconds to the casting brace. Additionally, most aftermarket rod holders can be added to the boat.

How is it best to propel the boat?
That is the beauty of the Freedom Hawk. In deep water conditions the Freedom Hawk can be paddled like a
traditional kayak (we recommend a 230 cm paddle). When standing the kayak can be poled using the optional push pole or paddled using the kayak paddle like
a canoe paddle. Some customers have installed motors using aftermarket motor mounts.
What sort of anchor shall I use?
The Freedom Hawk comes fully rigged for anchoring with an anchor boom and cleat. Based on bottom conditions
and current you can use a variety of anchors. We offer a 3 pound anchor as an accessory.
